The RACECAR sound is a little hard for us to describe. We all write the songs and with our diverse backgrounds and taste in music, the songs convey five different personalities.

There is no fixed formula for our songs. Usually one person gets the song rolling and we all sort of jump-in. This usually takes longer to write songs but we all get to contribute our share.

Our first album "Girlish" was released in June 1995 on the Queenie record label, based out of New York. It was recorded at Poole Studios in Burke, Va. by Harry Evans of Poole. We are currently recording our second album due out soon. If you would like a taste of some of our new songs, check out the sights area of our web page.
